What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of Operations -Marinas position at Advenco?
Advenco is a provider of hospitality services in state parks, marinas and campgrounds within the state of California. Our operations are centered around boat rentals, retail gift and souvenir sales, and food service. We are seeking an experienced operations leader who has a demonstrated ability to elevate a business to the next level. This includes budget creation and management, coaching and mentoring others and meeting/exceeding financial performance targets across multiple sites.
Responsibilities:
- Lead & oversee up to 15 direct reports to ensure health & safety requirements, training and development of staff and sound financial management occurs at all sites within the territory
- Communicate effectively with clients, vendor partners, site leaders and associates to meet company expectations of compliance and performance
- Build high performing teams that deliver results per company processes and expectations
- Work closely with site leaders to ensure proper attention to labor management and scheduling
- Effectively partner with HR to ensure optimal staffing at all times
- Make frequent visits to all sites within assigned territory to support managers and their respective teams
- Provide frequent and accurate financial reporting to senior management and actively participate in budgeting process
- Other duties as requested
Requirements:
- Able to travel, when necessary, to various sites in southern and northern California
- Must be flexible and adaptable with work schedule as business demands require
- Possess professional and upbeat communication skills with employees, vendors and clients
- Must be extremely well organized and detail-oriented
- Must be a proven leader with prior business operations successes at multiple sites
- Possess ability to analyze budgets and financial performance to proactively recommend solutions for improvement
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in business, hospitality or related field (preferred)
- Possess a minimum of five (5) years in a successful operational leadership role of a medium to large-sized business
- Possess a minimum of five (5) years leading and overseeing multi-site operations
