A growing, design-build mechanical contractor serving commercial and industrial clients across the Kansas City metro is looking for a Project Manager. This role owns the full lifecycle of complex mechanical construction projects — from preconstruction through closeout — and works directly with a high-performing team to deliver HVAC, piping, and plumbing systems on time and on budget. It's a high-impact role with real ownership, meaningful upside in total compensation, and a collaborative, low-ego culture that values performance over politics.
- In-Office, Full-Time (No Remote), Lenexa/Overland Park area
- Anticipated salary range, 3 years of experience: $80K-$100K
- Anticipated salary range, 6 years of experience: $100K - $120K
- Additional Compensation: $30K-$60K (base performance bonus profit sharing)

Overview:
- Manage the full lifecycle of mechanical construction projects including HVAC, piping, and plumbing systems
- Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, and cost controls from preconstruction through closeout
- Coordinate with preconstruction, in-house engineering, and field operations teams
- Oversee subcontractors, vendors, and procurement activities
- Utilize project management platforms (Procore, Autodesk Construction Cloud, or equivalent) for documentation and tracking
- Review and manage submittals, shop drawings, RFIs, and change orders
- Attend and lead project progress meetings with clients and general contractor partners
- Maintain strong relationships with clients, general contractors, and key project stakeholders
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to quality standards
Preferred Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in construction management, mechanical engineering, or a related field preferred
- 5 years of project management experience in mechanical construction (HVAC, piping, plumbing)
- Strong background in commercial or industrial mechanical systems
- Experience managing multiple concurrent projects from preconstruction through closeout
- Proficiency with Procore, Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC), or similar construction management platforms
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive communicator
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment with direct leadership access
