What are the responsibilities and job description for the Inventory Cycle Counter position at Advantus Corp?
Reporting to the Inventory Control Manager, the Inventory Cycle Counter performs cycle counts for the purpose of checking inventory accuracy and identifying errors in the inventory balances.
Responsibilities:
- Count inventory in specific locations designated by either computer-generated analysis or by storage, on demand stock out, etc. by operating a handheld scanner.
- Move materials in warehouse for the purpose of cycle counting using appropriate material handling equipment, primarily the Cherry Picker.
- Perform cycle counts on control group to identify problems.
- Monitor inventory counts by conducting stock checks and routine audits.
- Provide support to the distribution supervisor to help resolve special projects inventory issues.
Requirements:
- High School Education
- Demonstrates the ability to follow directions and change priorities or job duties as business needs require; rotate to other department functions as needed.
- Must be able to read, write, and have sufficient English speaking ability.
- Basic math skills necessary.
- Proven ability to operate powered industrial trucks, primarily the cherry picker/stock picker, within the established safety protocols and procedures.
Other Job Demands:
- Some overtime and Saturdays may be required.
- Willing and able to work in a hot and cold warehouse environment.
- Occasionally lifts and/or moves up to 75 lbs.
- Extended periods standing / walking / bending / stooping / kneeling on concrete floors.
