What are the responsibilities and job description for the Human Resources Generalist position at Advantus Corp.?
The HR Generalist is responsible for performing a variety of HR support functions and ensuring timely flow of information to and from the warehouse management staff. This position’s responsibilities include employee recordkeeping, new hire processes/onboarding, training, process improvement and benefits enrollment. The HR Generalist will assist with the development and administration of programs, procedures, and guidelines to help align the workforce with the strategic goals of the company.
Responsibilities:
- Handles a wide range of HR responsibilities including employee recordkeeping, new hire orientation and related documents, and other HR functions.
- Be a resource to teammates and managers on company policies, practices, and regulations to ensure company practices are in compliance with applicable employment laws.
- Provide support to employees and managers for various HR-related topics such as performance management, leave of absences, on-boarding, terminations, etc.
- Participates in benefits administration, including open enrollment and new hire enrollments, data input, and answering general questions.
- Organizes and maintains employee records and electronic file system to include disciplinary documents, compliance documents and other records. Audits records and corrects information as necessary.
- Supports HR projects and initiatives as assigned.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources Management or related discipline
- 3 years’ experience in HR
- Solid foundation in understanding HR policies and procedures
- Strong knowledge of hiring processes
- Understanding of HR best practices and current regulations
- Sound judgment and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated ability to be confidential, discreet, work independently, prioritize and manage assignments to ensure critical issues are addressed.
- Excellent communication skills
