Anticipated Duration: 3–6 months, with potential extension

Pay Rate: $50 - $58/hour W2

We are seeking a hands-on Finance Systems Automation Consultant for an onsite consulting engagement in Newport Beach, CA. This role will support multiple Finance Department automation and reporting initiatives, working directly with Finance leadership, the CFO, and operational stakeholders.

This is a project-based role for someone who can understand complex Finance processes, work through multiple data sources and system challenges, and build practical automation and reporting solutions.

Responsibilities

Support Finance systems automation projects across several areas, including:

Automating commission calculation processes across multiple data sources, product types, commission rates, and payout schedules.

Creating salesperson portfolio reporting that tracks completed sales, commissions paid, and commissions still outstanding.

Developing vendor expense reporting that consolidates vendor mapping maintained by Finance into clear reporting for planning, forecasting, and analysis.

Updating automated billing processes through Power BI, including migration to a new SQL-based database and pricing model changes.

Building automated pricing model tools using data from multiple systems and incorporating feedback from Finance, Operations, and other departments.

Partnering with Finance leadership and business operators to gather requirements, identify process gaps, and deliver scalable reporting and automation solutions.

Qualifications

Experience in financial consulting, Finance systems, process automation, business process improvement, or related project-based work.

Strong proficiency with SQL, Power BI / Power BI Admin, Excel, Salesforce / SFDC, and NetSuite.

Experience working with multiple data sources and back-end business systems.

Ability to automate manual Finance processes and improve reporting efficiency.

Strong analytical skills with the ability to synthesize complex data into actionable insights.

Experience with AI tools, automation tools, or process efficiency projects preferred.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to work independently, manage deadlines, and balance competing priorities.

Must be able to work onsite in Newport Beach, CA.

Preferred Experience

Experience with Python, R, Microsoft Dynamics, Business Central, or similar systems.

Experience with commission automation, sales compensation, billing, vendor expense reporting, pricing models, FP&A reporting, or Finance transformation projects.
