Accounting Specialist – Nonprofit Accounting
Temporary Opportunity Covering Medical Leave
Pay: $30–35/hour
Schedule: Fully onsite
We are seeking an experienced Accounting Specialist to join a nonprofit organization on a temporary basis to provide coverage during a medical leave. The ideal candidate will have strong nonprofit accounting experience, excellent attention to detail, and hands-on experience with QuickBooks Desktop.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process daily deposits and accurately record cash, checks, and credit card receipts in QuickBooks
- Prepare and post journal entries for multiple programs in a timely manner
- Analyze financial data and assist in preparing monthly financial reports
- Prepare monthly contract invoices and supporting documentation for grant-funded program
- Support additional accounting and administrative projects as assigned
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field preferred
- Minimum 3 years of accounting experience required
- Prior nonprofit accounting experience is required
- Strong working knowledge of QuickBooks Desktop
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint
- Must be detail-oriented with dependable attendance
- Ability to successfully complete a Live Scan background check
