Staff Accountant (Property Accounting A/R)

A thriving real estate organization is looking for a detail‑driven, organized, and accountable Staff Accountant to support property‑level accounting and accounts receivable. This is a full‑time, onsite role with no remote or hybrid options.

What You’ll Do

Property Accounting

• Prepare monthly financial statements for assigned properties.
• Maintain and review fixed asset schedules, including capitalization and retirements.
• Review lease documentation and ensure accurate accounting treatment.
• Reconcile rent rolls, straight‑line rent, aged delinquencies, property taxes, and insurance.
• Maintain schedules supporting all balance sheet accounts.
• Record journal entries for accruals, prepaids, depreciation, amortization, and SLR.
• Review leasing commissions and process asset disposals for move‑outs.
• Review CAM reconciliations and assist with annual property budgets.
• Approve vendor invoices through AVID or similar workflow tools.

Accounts Receivable

• Apply tenant payments (checks, ACH, etc.) accurately and promptly.
• Prepare billing adjustments and corrections.
• Monitor A/R aging and partner with property managers on outstanding balances.
• Research short payments, unapplied cash, and discrepancies.
• Post recurring charges, credits, and tenant account updates.

What You Bring

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
• 2–3 years of hands‑on real estate accounting experience.
• Strong systems aptitude; MRI experience is a plus.
• Proficiency in Excel.
• Highly organized, detail‑focused, and able to work independently.
• Comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.

Role Details

• Compensation: Up to $90,000
• Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
• Work Arrangement: 100% onsite
