What are the responsibilities and job description for the Wastewater Treatment Operator position at Advantage Technical?
- 4 days per week, 10-hour shifts
- Starting pay: Approximately $40/hour (based on license and experience)
- Operate and maintain wastewater treatment and collection systems
- Monitor system performance and ensure compliance with operational standards
- Perform routine inspections, maintenance, and troubleshooting of equipment
- Work independently to complete assigned tasks efficiently and accurately
- Follow all safety procedures and chemical handling requirements
- Maintain accurate records and documentation as required
- Support plant operations to ensure environmental compliance and reliability
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Valid Massachusetts Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator’s License (Grade 5 or higher required)
- Prior experience in wastewater treatment operations strongly preferred
- Strong knowledge of wastewater systems, equipment, and procedures
- Basic computer and communication skills required
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, twist, squat, reach, and grasp for extended periods
- Ability to lift and move materials as needed
- Work in environments involving chemicals and industrial equipment
