Job Title: Strategic Sourcing Manager (IT, R&D & Digital)
Pay: $45–$51 an hour or up to about $104,000 a year
Location: Bedford, MA 01730
Job Type: Temp to Perm, Remote (but must live within 30 miles from Bedford, MA 01730 because you will need to come into the office once or twice a month)
What You Will Do
Category Strategy & Sourcing Execution
- Develop and execute global category strategies across IT, R&D, and Digital spend, aligned with business and financial objectives.
- Lead end-to-end strategic sourcing initiatives, including demand assessment, market analysis, RFP/RFQ execution, supplier evaluation, negotiations, and contracting.
- Identify and deliver cost savings, cost avoidance, and overall value improvement opportunities.
- Proactively manage contract renewals to prevent auto-renewals and ensure competitive, right-sized agreements.
- Perform financial analysis and build pricing models to support data-driven decision-making.
Stakeholder & Supplier Management
- Act as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders across IT, Engineering, Digital, and Finance.
- Lead complex commercial negotiations with global and regional suppliers.
- Establish and manage strategic supplier relationships, including performance reviews and governance cadence.
- Drive cross-regional alignment to reduce fragmentation and maximize leverage.
- Partner with stakeholders to gather business requirements, data, and feedback throughout the vendor selection process.
- Coordinate and manage Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs) with critical and strategic suppliers.
Commercial, Risk & Governance
- Review and negotiate key commercial terms, including pricing, payment terms, SLAs, and termination clauses.
- Partner closely with Legal to mitigate contract risk and ensure compliance.
- Prepare sourcing recommendations and secure required internal approvals.
- Ensure sourcing activities align with company policies, controls, and audit requirements.
- Drive total cost of ownership (TCO) optimization with a clear understanding of end-to-end costs and benefits.
Continuous Improvement
- Contribute to the development of best-in-class indirect sourcing processes.
- Support standardization, governance, and transparency across categories and regions.
- Leverage data, benchmarks, and analytics to inform strategic decisions.
To Be Successful, You Will Have
- Bachelor’s degree with 5 years of indirect procurement/sourcing experience; Master’s degree in Supply Chain or Business Administration preferred.
- ISM certification or other relevant professional certification preferred.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and categories simultaneously.
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across functions.
- Demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders and operate as a trusted advisor.
- Experience partnering with Legal and Finance on contract negotiation and approval processes.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, global, and multicultural environment.
- Collaborative, solution-oriented mindset with strong problem-solving skills.
- Ability to motivate and influence cross-functional teams to adopt procurement best practices.
