RF Electrical Engineer
Position Type: Direct Hire
Position Location: Colorado Springs, CO
Position Salary: $100,000 - $145,000 (Depending on Experience) Bonus
Responsibilities:
- Designing, developing and maintaining power and logic circuits in support of wireless communication systems.
- Working with technologies such as antennas, modems, power amplifiers, IF switches, GNSS, inertial systems, CPLD, FPGA, and other modules used in wireless communication.
- Design and Development: Create and validate schematic block diagrams and perform complex PCB circuitry design and analysis.
- Testing and Troubleshooting: Ability to generate test plans for validation of certain design elements or expected performances, improve existing designs, and troubleshoot circuit issues.
- System Integration: Work with cross-functional teams such as Mechanical and RF Design Engineers to ensure designs meet overall system requirements.
- Optimization: Use network analysis tools to optimize networks and perform system loss calculations for RF, cabling, power, signals.
- Documentation: Create and/or update released documentation, such as native schematic files, Gerber files, including development of technical specifications.
- Compliance: Ensure designs comply with industry including MIL-STD, EN, and IEC regulations.
- Technical Support: Provide technical support to customers and team members.
Requirements:
- Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering, or a related field; Higher Education is a plus
- 7 years PCB design experience. RF experience is required
- Satellite and IP network experience a plus.
- Must have PCB design software experience (Altium Designer highly preferred, OrCAD, KiCAD, Proteus acceptable)
- Experience with network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, signal generators, power meters and current and voltage probes.
- Familiarity with SystemView, MATLAB, Python
- Strong understanding of Electronic Engineering principals and theory
- Experience with programming CPLD or FPGA
- Experience in digital communication protocols and signal conversion techniques a plus as well as experience with Digital IF, RF environments, and electronic warfare domains.
- Enthusiastic team player, skilled at working with other professionals (including engineers) in a close-knit, dynamic group, eager to develop solutions and handle multiple assignments.
- Ability to communicate within teams and explaining technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Keeps up to date with latest digital signaling protocols, technology trends and advancements
