Quality Control Technician (Microbiology Lab)
Location: Daytona, FL
Pay rate: up to $23/hour
Schedule: Daytime, on‑site
Position Overview
This role supports the quality function within a medical‑product manufacturing environment by performing inspections, testing, and data analysis throughout various stages of production. The Quality Control Technician ensures products meet established standards for safety, reliability, and performance. The position also contributes to continuous improvement by identifying deviations, documenting findings, and recommending updates to procedures and quality methods.
Key Responsibilities
Quality Testing & Inspection
- Perform a variety of quality control tests on products during different phases of the production process to verify compliance with quality and reliability standards.
- Record and maintain statistical data related to inspections and testing.
- Analyze test results and prepare summaries that confirm compliance or highlight deviations from established standards.
- Recommend updates to existing standards, procedures, and testing methods when improvements are identified.
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, test results, and quality findings.
- Support the development of updated quality procedures and documentation as needed.
- Assist supervisors with additional quality‑related tasks as assigned.
Safety & Compliance
- Follow all safety guidelines and take reasonable care to protect personal health and the safety of others.
- Adhere to established procedures, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
Skills & Knowledge
- Working knowledge of quality control principles and testing methods within a technical or manufacturing environment.
- Ability to apply established procedures, theories, and concepts to daily tasks.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to identify issues requiring corrective action.
- Comfortable working under general supervision while exercising sound judgment.
- Effective communication skills for interacting with supervisors, peers, and occasionally external vendors or contractors.
- Ability to assist in training or orienting peers when needed.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree required (Science, preferably Microbiology)
- 1–2 years of related experience in quality control, manufacturing, or a technical field.
- Industry certifications are a plus.
- Reliable on‑site attendance required.
- Ability to work a non‑standard schedule when necessary.
Physical Requirements
- Regularly required to sit, communicate, and use hands for handling or reaching.
- Occasional standing and walking.
- Ability to lift or move up to 20 lbs.
- Some bending, reaching, or light physical activity may be required.
