Field Support Engineer
Position Type: Direct Hire
Position Location: Austin, TX (Remote/Home-Based)
Position Salary: $60,000 - $85,000 (Depending on Experience) Bonus
Responsibilities:
- A leading provider of SMT automation machines and software is seeking a skilled and experienced Field Support Engineer.
- Crucial for troubleshooting, installing, repairing, and programming industrial machines and software at customer sites.
- The company provides comprehensive training to ensure you are well-equipped for success.
- Provide on-site and remote engineering support to ensure optimal performance at customer manufacturing sites.
- Perform installations, repairs, retrofits, reconfigurations, and programming of industrial machines and software.
- Assist clients with network configuration and administration, including the setup of Windows & Database servers.
- Accurately the document service logs to maintain comprehensive reporting.
- Conduct customer training on the company’s software products as required.
- Respond to after-hours, on-call technical support requests for customer emergencies.
- Ensure services are provided following company policies, protocols, and service manuals.
- Escalate issues or suggest improvements to maintain and enhance company quality standards.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree a minimum; Engineering or Science background is preferred; Higher education is a plus
- 2 years of field support experience, with strong expertise in electrical and mechanical diagnostics/repairs.
- Proficiency in supporting Windows OS, including operating, installing, and configuring.
- Willingness to travel as needed up to 75% expected.
- Experience with Microsoft SQL and Linux is a plus.
- Prior experience in semiconductors and Surface Mount Technology (SMT) is highly desirable.
