Title: Electrical Engineer (Harness Design)

Location: ON-Site Sterling Heights, MI 48312

Industry: Military Vehicles

Pay/Duration: 6 months plus contract to hire / 50.00 per hour

Key Skills: Capital Harness Systems / 3D CAD / Harness layout / Harness XC / BS Electrical Engineering

Designing electrical wiring harnesses to include component selection for connectors, backshells, sleeving, braiding, sealants, boots, transitions, etc.

Determining harness layout through vehicle and branch points for multi-branch harnesses

Designing to environmental requirements for temperature, shock, vibration, submergence and exposure to harsh chemicals

Designing harnesses in Capital Harness System (CHS) (aka Mentor Graphics) software, working specifically in Harness XC, Capital Logic and Capital Topology

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, or Computer Engineering
Experience with Harness Design highly desired
5-7 years professional engineering experience
Ability to balance cost/schedule/technical priorities.
Occasional overtime and weekend hours may be required to complete critical tasks.
Experience with Microsoft Visio desirable.
Experience with Capital Harness System (CHS) (aka Mentor Graphics) software, specifically in Harness XC, Capital Logic and Capital Topology is desirable.
Experience with Pro-E Creo desirable.
Experience with NX desirable.
Basic proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite.
Must have strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to use Engineering Development and Test Tools.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with interdisciplinary teams.
Strong multi-tasking skills.
Strong record keeping skills.
