Design Drafter - Hybrid Schedule Available
Location: Hanover, MD
Pay Rate: $48-$58/hour
We are seeking an experienced Design Drafter for a temporary contract opportunity in Hanover, MD, with a hybrid work schedule available. This role is ideal for a skilled CAD professional with expertise in SolidWorks, mechanical design, and manufacturing documentation who thrives in a collaborative engineering environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and maintain detailed 3D models, assemblies, drawings, and engineering documentation using SolidWorks.
- Develop designs utilizing SolidWorks Routing, Sheet Metal, and Weldment modules.
- Prepare manufacturing-ready drawings in accordance with ANSI Y14.5 GD&T and applicable military standards.
- Collaborate with engineers, managers, vendors, and customers to resolve technical design challenges.
- Support product development, fabrication, machining, welding, and production processes.
- Manage design files and product data using PDM systems.
Qualifications
- 7-10 years of CAD design and drafting experience.
- Associate degree in Drafting, Design, Engineering Technology, or related field; equivalent experience considered.
- Formal training and advanced proficiency with Dassault Systemes SolidWorks.
- Experience with mechanical design, CNC machining, sheet metal fabrication, and welding processes.
- Knowledge of military standards and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to obtain a future security clearance.
- SolidWorks Advanced Parts and Advanced Assemblies certifications preferred.
