Contracts Administrator
Location: Lorton, VA or Franklin, MA (Hybrid)
Salary: Up to $130,000

Position Overview
Reporting directly to the Director of Contracts, the Contracts Administrator will support the full lifecycle of federal government contracts from proposal through closeout. This role is ideal for a hands-on contracts professional with experience administering Department of Defense (DoD) and federal civilian agency contracts, supporting production programs, managing contract modifications, and partnering closely with Program Management, Finance, Supply Chain, and Business Development teams.
The successful candidate will have experience working with Firm Fixed Price (FFP), Time & Materials (T&M), and Cost-Reimbursable contracts and understand how contractual requirements directly impact program execution, funding, deliverables, customer acceptance, and revenue recognition.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer federal government contracts throughout the entire contract lifecycle, from proposal support through contract closeout.
- Review, negotiate, and execute Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs), Teaming Agreements (TAs), subcontract agreements, and customer contracts.
- Analyze and administer Firm Fixed Price (FFP), Time & Materials (T&M), and Cost-Reimbursable contracts.
- Review solicitations, Statements of Work (SOWs), and Requests for Proposal (RFPs) to identify contractual requirements, risks, and compliance obligations.
- Support proposal development activities, including contract review, pricing support, compliance reviews, and risk assessments.
- Process contract modifications, funding actions, limitation of funds notifications, option exercises, and contract closeout activities.
- Develop and maintain contract summaries, contract briefs, and compliance documentation for active programs.
- Partner with Program Managers to ensure contractual requirements, deliverables, funding, schedules, and customer obligations are met.
- Monitor contractual performance milestones including:
- Performance-Based Payments
- First Article Testing (FAT)
- Acceptance Testing
- Production Deliverables
- Government Acceptance and Payment Requirements
- Review and interpret FAR, DFARS, and agency-specific clauses and ensure compliance with mandatory flow-down requirements.
- Support customer audits, contract reviews, and compliance assessments.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to Program Management, Supply Chain, Finance, and Leadership on contractual matters.
- Assist with the development and improvement of contract processes, procedures, templates, and internal training materials.
- Maintain strong working relationships with government contracting officers, customers, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Contracts, Legal Studies, or related field.
- 4 years of experience administering federal government contracts.
- Experience supporting DoD, aerospace, defense, manufacturing, or federal civilian agency programs.
- Experience administering:
- Firm Fixed Price (FFP)
- Time & Materials (T&M)
- Cost-Reimbursable Contracts
- Working knowledge of FAR and DFARS regulations.
- Experience reviewing and negotiating NDAs, Teaming Agreements, and subcontract agreements.
- Experience supporting proposal development and contract negotiations.
- Experience processing contract modifications, funding actions, and contract closeouts.
- Strong understanding of production contracts and contract requirements associated with manufacturing and product delivery.
- Ability to identify contractual risks and recommend practical business solutions.
- Strong financial and analytical skills with the ability to monitor contract funding, expenditures, and performance metrics.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills for contract tracking, reporting, and data analysis.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple contracts and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting DoD production programs.
- Experience with Performance-Based Payments, First Article Testing, Acceptance Testing, CDRLs, and SDRLs.
- Experience supporting government customers such as DoD, NOAA, USSTRATCOM, DCMA, DCAA, or other federal agencies.
- Prior Secret Clearance or ability to obtain a clearance.
- Experience with JAMIS, Deltek, Costpoint, Cognos, Power BI, or similar government contracting systems.
- Experience supporting both prime contracts and subcontract administration.
