Warehouse Technician Lead

Job Summary:

The Warehouse Lead is responsible for the day-to-day execution and coordination of warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, order picking, packing, and shipping of inventoried and made-to-order items. This role serves as the primary operational lead within the warehouse, coordinating workflow, prioritizing orders, maintaining inventory accuracy, and ensuring safe, efficient, and on-time distribution of products to meet customer requirements.

Productivity/On-Time Delivery

• Organizes and prioritizes picking sheets on the order board to ensure customer orders are fulfilled accurately and shipped on time
• Continuously assesses workload and throughput throughout the day and coordinates labor needs with peers and leadership to meet demand
• Tracks and analyzes order fulfillment and warehouse performance data to identify opportunities to reduce lead times and improve efficiency
• Ensures accurate inventory movements and storage, both physically and within the ERP system
• Oversees inventory rotation practices to maintain product integrity and minimize obsolescence

Coordination and Operational Leadership

• Serves as the day-to-day point of contact for warehouse execution and workflow coordination
• Collaborates closely with production, purchasing, and sales to align priorities and resolve issues
• Trains and mentors new warehouse employees on operational procedures, safety practices, and system usage
• Escalates capacity constraints, service risks, or material issues to leadership with recommended solutions
• Identifies opportunities for cost savings related to freight usage and material handling practices and supports implementation of approved improvements

Quality/Inventory Accuracy

• Inspects incoming product for quality, accuracy, and damage
• Identifies process gaps, inefficiencies, and root causes related to materials flow, equipment usage, ERP transactions, or training needs
• Coordinates and completes scheduled cycle counts and supports corrective actions to improve inventory accuracy and system integrity

Safety/Compliance

• Promotes safe work practices and serves as a role model for compliance with safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
• Identifies unsafe conditions or behaviors and works with leadership to implement corrective actions
• Supports safety audits, incident investigations, and continuous improvement initiatives related to warehouse safety

• Experience with ERP systems, WMS, Microsoft Office Suite, or related software

• Knowledge of warehouse safety standards and best practices
• Forklift operation certification required

Education and Experience:

• 3 years’ experience, GED or HS diploma required
