Positions We Are Filling

We are currently hiring approximately five crew members, including:

  • Rigger / Ironworkers
  • Welder / Ironworkers
  • Ironworker Helper / Structural Steel Laborer

Applicants with experience in multiple areas will receive priority consideration.

Job Responsibilities

Depending on experience, certifications, and qualifications, responsibilities may include:

  • Structural steel erection
  • Connecting structural steel
  • Rigging structural steel and miscellaneous metals
  • Crane signaling
  • Bolt-up and field connections
  • Structural and field welding
  • Operating telehandlers and forklifts
  • Working from boom lifts and aerial lifts
  • Installing joists and metal decking
  • Installing stairs, railings, lintels, and miscellaneous metals
  • Reading structural and erection drawings
  • Layout and field measuring
  • Loading, unloading, and staging structural steel
  • Assisting other crew members as needed
  • Maintaining tools, equipment, and organized work areas
  • Following all site-specific safety requirements

Employees must be willing to perform multiple duties within their training, certifications, and qualifications.

Certifications

McGough requires appropriate certification for employees performing certain work on this project.

Employees performing the following activities must have applicable current certification or qualification:

  • Rigging
  • Forklift / Telehandler operation
  • Welding

Applicants must be prepared to provide documentation of applicable certifications before performing those duties.

Candidates with certifications in multiple areas are strongly preferred.

Additional valuable training and certifications include OSHA 10 or OSHA 30, Signal Person, Boom Lift/Aerial Lift, Fall Protection, and First Aid/CPR.

Preferred Qualifications

Ideal candidates will have experience with structural steel erection, rigging, connecting, bolt-up, structural welding, crane operations, telehandlers, aerial lifts, and working safely at heights.

Welding experience is strongly preferred for all positions.

We are particularly interested in candidates who can rig, weld, connect, and operate equipment, allowing them to work in multiple areas as project needs change.

Ironworker Helper Candidates

We are willing to consider a motivated individual with less structural steel experience for an Ironworker Helper / Structural Steel Laborer position.

Candidates with welding-school training, welding experience, construction experience, mechanical aptitude, or experience using construction tools and equipment are encouraged to apply.

This is intended to be a developmental structural steel position—not simply a cleanup labor position. The right candidate will have the opportunity to learn additional aspects of structural steel erection and become a more versatile member of the crew.

What We Are Looking For

Successful candidates must be dependable, safety-conscious, willing to work at heights, able to work effectively as part of a crew, and willing to perform different tasks as needed.

We value employees who communicate well, take pride in their workmanship, follow established rigging and erection procedures, and understand that productivity cannot come at the expense of safety.

Applicants must be willing and available to work on-site in Grand Forks, North Dakota.
