Position Summary
Advanced Sheetmetal is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Sheetmetal Take-Off Estimator to join our Estimation team on large-scale commercial and industrial projects. This role is responsible for performing on screen take-offs and generating reliable, timely, and quality job estimates. The ideal candidate will have experience in estimation, a solid understanding of bidding, take-offs and exceptional organizational and communication skills.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform advanced takeoffs and input utilizing the estimating software.
- Review all bid documents to determine the complete project scope.
- Prepare and present estimate documentation, including gaps in available data.
- Read and interpret plans, proposals, and other documentations to create bids.
- Track and analyze data to reduce gaps between estimates and the actual cost.
- Review completed estimates and proposals for thoroughness, accuracy, value engineering alternatives and compliance with strategic goals.
- Attend job turnover meetings, and ensure preparation of job turnover meeting materials. Attend job closing meetings.
- Be part of an estimating team working on larger projects.
- Review material pricing provided by purchasing and suppliers, and adjust estimating database and procedures accordingly.
- Gather details and maintain current market data necessary to accurately estimate construction, material and soft costs associated with project construction.
- Continuously follow up on all bid projects and accurately forecast future awards/probabilities.
Skills
- Understanding of the construction bid process and on-screen takeoff platforms.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and estimating software, Trimble/Quickpen
- Excellent customer service skills with desire to exceed customer expectations.
- Good analytical skills and attention to detail with ability to read and interpret blueprints, plans, and manuals.
- Ability to work independently in a timely manner, making sure job is done correctly the first time.
