Key Responsibilities

• The Roofing Service Technician Assistant is responsible for assisting in locating leaks and performing professional quality roof repairs in a safe and timely manner, while treating customers and fellow employees with courtesy and respect. Job duties also include the completion of defined scope projects and preventative maintenance activities. 
• Responsible for assisting in the operation and maintenance of all company issued equipment such as vehicles, power tools, phones, hand tools, etc.
• Maintain trucks to ensure they are always stocked and cleaned inside and out
• Utilize industry standard manufacturer approved repair techniques
• Complete daily assignments in a timely manner with completion of proper paperwork
• Performs all other duties as assigned
• Remove clutter on roof and maintain a clean & neat work area
• Transport hot tar from kettle to work area
• Clean and maintain roofing equipment
• Cover and secure material and equipment on roof
• Clean and maintain dump and staging area on ground
• Keeps debris away from roof
• Keeps material grouped and properly staged
• Spuds, seals and maintains tie ins
• Properly prepares and primes surfaces
• Safely disposes of hazardous materials
• Places plates and screws in proper locations
•  Covers equipment and materials as needed
• Aware of surroundings – people, hazards, scopes of work

Skills, Experience, and Knowledge Required 

Education

• High School Diploma or GED preferred, not required

Experience

2 years commercial roofing service technician experience preferred

Skills & Requirements

• Minimum 18 years of age
• Valid driver’s license and insurable driving record
• Successful Pre-Employment Drug and Agility tests
• Comfortable climbing ladders up to 60 ft tall
• Ability to lift 100 LBS or more
• Successful Background Check
• Ability to withstand demands of extreme weather conditions and high temperatures
• Capable of bending over most of the day and working on knees excessively throughout the day
• Able to pass a government background check per project requirements
• Knowledge of basic roofing tools
• Strong verbal and written communication skills

Working Conditions | Environment | Special Requirements

• Full time onsite
• Ability to work in a safe professional manner adhering to all regulatory requirements including, OSHA, State and Federal regulations.
