Growing Rheumatology practice seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Office Representative to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a growth mindset, be responsible for assisting healthcare professionals with quality patient care and ensuring the smooth operation of our medical facility. Candidate must be able to provide excellent patient care and customer service with compassion and patience.
- Greet and check in patients in a friendly and professional manner
- Verify patient demographics and insurance information and update the EMR system
- Ensure referrals and authorizations are available before appointments
- Collection of copay/co-insurance/deductible at the time of service
- Schedule appointments and follow-ups, manage cancellations and reschedules
- Manage heavy phone call volume and handle patient inquiries or direct them appropriately
- Assist with administrative tasks such as scanning, faxing, and managing medical records
- Ability to handle a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks based on importance
- Work independently
- Maintain confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Contribute to clinic workflow efficiency and positive patient experience
- Support back-office staff and providers as needed
- Assist with patient check out

- Knowledge of medical terminology is a must
