ARMI provides state-of-the-art technical and commercialization services to companies seeking to advance next-generation biomedical technologies, de-risking the path to market and speeding impact.

ReGen Valley Tech Hub

Created as part of the CHIPS and Science Act of 2022, the U.S. Economic Development Administration's (EDA) Tech Hubs program is designed to secure U.S. leadership in industries of the future.

ARMI is the convening organization of the ReGen Valley Tech Hub, which is building New Hampshire and the surrounding region into a global epicenter for next-generation biomedical manufacturing and related technologies. The ReGen Valley Tech Hub Consortium is comprised of 80 industry, academic, civic, and community collaborators dedicated to transformational impact and the economic growth of the region.

 

Your Role

As the leader of the ReGen Valley Tech Hub Consortium, the Regional Innovation Officer (RIO) drives the economic development and technology innovation strategy established by the Hub's representative Governance Committee. The RIO is responsible for accelerating the Hub's impact; ensuring successful fulfillment of the Hub's commitments to EDA and its collaborators; building and sustaining positive relationships with a broad range of local, regional, and national stakeholders; and ensuring a positive, contributory experience of the Hub for Consortium members. The RIO is employed by ARMI and operates on behalf of the Consortium.

 

A. Executive Leadership

  1. Serve as the primary ambassador for the ReGen Valley Tech Hub, including with EDA and regional stakeholders.
  2. Communicate the Hub's impact and facilitate proactive action to address any barriers to the Hub's goals.
  3. In coordination with the Consortium, EDA, and key stakeholders, develop and drive a proactive communications strategy to build durable, broad support for the Hub's goals.
  4. Keep EDA proactively apprised of the Hub's progress, highlighting the broad-based impact of EDA's investment.
  5. Represent the ReGen Valley Tech Hub locally, regionally, and nationally, providing public and executive-level presentations and briefings on the bold vision and broad impacts of ReGen Valley to industry, academic, community, and civic audiences.
  6. Sustain and evolve, as needed, the Consortium's governance structure to ensure strong engagement, effective execution, and advancement of the Hub's impact.
  7. Identify and establish new committees and/or projects deemed by the Consortium to be required to meet the goals of the Hub.
  8. Identify and establish coordination with relevant stakeholders regarding emerging local, regional and national efforts, proactively building alignment to advance the goals of the Hub.
  9. Ensure seamless coordination and proactive complementarity between the Hub's regional efforts and ARMI's national efforts, including with respect to strategy, project oversight, communication, and execution.
  10. Foster sustained cross-sector collaboration, to include matching technology innovation with funding sources and infrastructure, cultivating the workforce development that is central to fulfillment of the Regen Valley's economic development vision, building market visibility, and deepening the Hub's relationships with multiple types of funders and aligned organizations.

 

B. Program Oversight

  1. Drive the fulfillment of the Hub's strategy and goals by ensuring adherence to federal commitments, alignment across component projects, and milestone completion.
  2. Oversee relevant project budgets, ensuring expenses align with plan and commitments.
  3. Oversee the identification, monitoring, and mitigation of risks across the Consortium
  4. Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to deliver timely, high-quality responses and reporting to meet federal requirements.
  5. Oversee the generation, coordination, and review of all externally facing materials to ensure accuracy, excellence, and alignment with the Hub's goals and brand.

 

C. Your Skills and Experience

  1. Ability to drive the achievement of a bold regional vision for technology-based, community-guided economic development.
  2. Exceptional executive presence with demonstrated ability to build coalitions, motivate teams, and lead transformational change in a fast-paced, multi-stakeholder environment.
  3. Deep experience leading major programs and driving outcomes at a regional and/or national level.
  4. Strong commitment to the economic development of ReGen Valley, demonstrated by active, in-person, sustained presence in the region.
  5. Exceptional interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, with demonstrated ability to build and sustain positive relationships with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders.
  6. Deep experience in regional economic development, with demonstrated ability to independently drive and creatively build impact (e.g., strengthening a regional capital stack, interfacing with public and private stakeholders, partnering).
    1. Demonstrated experience with technology-based economic development preferred.
    2. Direct experience with emerging technology environments preferred.
    3. Direct experience with technology acceleration and new product commercialization preferred.
  7. Demonstrated experience independently engaging multiple types of funders to drive economic development (e.g., venture, philanthropic, federal, State, local).
  8. Ability to engage in frequent travel throughout the region, along with intermittent national travel.
  9. Deep commitment to professional ethics and excellence, with demonstrated experience overseeing fiscal, compliance, and reporting requirements for major programs.
