Duties
- Conduct comprehensive speech and language evaluations for pediatric and adult patients, including early intervention assessments.
- Develop, implement, and monitor individualized speech-language therapy plans tailored to each patient’s needs.
- Provide direct therapy sessions to individuals with speech impairments, language delays, or swallowing difficulties across various settings.
- Collaborate closely with families, caregivers, educators, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure cohesive care strategies.
- Utilize electronic medical records (EMR/EHR) systems to document assessments, treatment progress, and patient outcomes accurately.
- Adapt therapy techniques for telehealth delivery when necessary, ensuring effective remote patient engagement and progress tracking.
- Educate patients and their families about communication strategies, physiology of speech mechanisms, and techniques to support ongoing improvement.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
- Valid state licensure or certification as a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP).
- Demonstrated experience working with children in pediatrics or early intervention programs is highly preferred.
- Proven ability to develop and implement speech-language therapy plans effectively.
- Strong knowledge of anatomy and physiology related to speech production and swallowing functions.
- Experience conducting comprehensive speech and language evaluations using standardized tools.
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems and medical terminology relevant to speech therapy practice.
- Telehealth experience is advantageous; must be comfortable delivering remote therapy sessions.
- Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams including educators, healthcare providers, and families.
- Passion for working with individuals with disabilities or speech impairments across diverse age groups including geriatrics.
