The Electric Grid is undergoing significant investment to meet the increasing demand for reliable and safe electricity. Advanced Power Technologies plays an important role fulfilling the need for advanced monitoring to keep the Grid safe and reliable.
We are seeking a motivated and technically-minded Support Application Engineer / Application Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will serve as a key point of contact for our existing customers, providing hands-on technical support, managing product configurations, and ensuring a smooth experience throughout the return and warranty process. You will also collaborate closely with our outside sales team to help drive customer satisfaction and business success.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Customer Support
- Serve as the first technical resource for existing customers, responding to inquiries related to product application, configuration, and troubleshooting.
- Diagnose and resolve technical issues in a timely and professional manner, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Maintain clear and thorough documentation of customer interactions and resolutions.
Product Configuration & Settings
- Review customer-supplied information, drawings, and specifications to complete accurate product settings and configurations.
- Ensure all configurations meet customer requirements.
- Coordinate with internal engineering and operations teams as needed to validate settings.
RMA (Return Merchandise Authorization) Management
- Manage the end-to-end RMA process, including intake, evaluation, coordination with internal teams, and communication with customers.
- Track RMA cases through to resolution and identify recurring issues to support continuous improvement efforts.
- Ensure RMA timelines and commitments are met consistently.
Sales Team Support
- Provide technical assistance to the outside sales team, including product selection guidance, application support, and customer-facing technical documentation.
- Participate in pre-sales and post-sales activities as needed to support new and existing accounts.
- Help develop or review technical materials such as application notes, FAQs, and product guides.
Qualifications Required
- Diploma or bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field — or equivalent hands-on work experience.
- Solid understanding of electrical systems and power technologies.
- Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and specifications.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to a range of audiences.
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Customer-focused mindset with a proactive, problem-solving approach.
Pay: $85,000.00 - $138,000.00 per year
