Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and energetic Front Office Medical professional to serve as the first point of contact for our patients. The ideal candidate will possess strong administrative skills, medical office experience, and a passion for delivering excellent patient service. This role involves managing patient interactions, coordinating appointments, verifying insurance, and supporting clinical staff to ensure smooth clinic operations.
Duties
- Greet patients warmly, schedule appointments, and manage multi-line phone systems with professionalism and courtesy.
- Verify insurance coverage, perform insurance authorization, and handle billing processes using medical billing software such as Practice Fusion, Availity and insurance portals.
- Maintain accurate medical records and electronic health records (EHR) systems including Practice Fusion.
- Review documentation for completeness and accuracy, ensuring compliance with HIPAA and clinical confidentiality policies.
- Assist with patient intake procedures, including collecting medical history and updating demographic information.
- Support clinical staff by preparing documentation reviews, coding procedures with CPT, ICD-9/10 codes, and ensuring proper care plan documentation.
- Manage office supplies, and ensure a clean, organized front desk environment.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in a medical office setting with familiarity in clinic operations and front desk responsibilities.
- Strong knowledge of health insurance verification processes and medical billing procedures.
- Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems
- Knowledge of medical terminology, CPT coding, ICD coding (ICD-9/10), and Medicare guidelines.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively via phone and in person.
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite; and Excel.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
