Advanced Paper Converting is looking for a dependable and motivated Production Machine Assistant to join our manufacturing team in Ripon. In this role, you'll work alongside our Machine Operators to keep production running safely, efficiently, and smoothly.
We're looking for someone who is hardworking, reliable, mechanically inclined, and comfortable in a hands-on manufacturing environment. Previous manufacturing or machine experience is preferred, but we're also open to candidates who have a strong work ethic, good mechanical aptitude, and a willingness to learn.
What You'll Do
As a Production Machine Assistant, you'll play an important role in the day-to-day production process. You'll assist Machine Operators, work directly with production equipment and materials, and help ensure finished products meet our quality standards.
Responsibilities include:
- Assist Machine Operators with loading paper rolls onto equipment
- Hang, splice, thread, and prepare paper rolls for production
- Select appropriate paper rolls based on production requirements
- Assist with machine setup and adjustments throughout production runs
- Monitor equipment and materials to help keep production running efficiently
- Change conveyor belts and adjust belt speeds as needed
- Assist with clearing machine jams and resetting equipment
- Monitor glue application and refill glue as needed
- Operate package labeling equipment and replenish labels
- Prepare materials for current and upcoming production orders
- Inspect finished products for quality and accuracy
- Identify and communicate production or quality issues
- Keep equipment and work areas clean, organized, and safe
- Follow company safety procedures, quality standards, and work instructions
- Assist in other areas of production as needed

Qualifications
- Previous manufacturing, production, machine operation, or related hands-on experience preferred
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Strong attention to detail
- Effective communication skills
- Ability to work safely and efficiently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Willingness to learn multiple production processes and assist in different areas as needed
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
Physical Requirements
This is an active, hands-on manufacturing position. Candidates must be able to:
- Stand and walk throughout the workday
- Bend, twist, reach, push, and pull as needed
- Regularly lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds
- Work safely around moving machinery and production equipment
- Work in a manufacturing environment with varying temperatures and noise levels
