Our client is seeking an experienced Structural Engineer to assess, remediate, and advise on structural integrity issues within an active industrial facility. This is a high-visibility, high-priority engagement with immediate scope and long-term potential involvement in broader capital projects.
Scope highlights
- Evaluate a damaged load-bearing column and compromised load-bearing beam within a cordoned facility section
- Assess structural risk and determine whether interim shoring or immediate remediation is required
- Deliver a formal structural assessment and remediation plan in compliance with Virginia building codes
- Coordinate with facility management on phased repair execution and return-to-service timeline
Ideal background
- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in structural engineering — Virginia licensure required or able to obtain reciprocity
- Experience with industrial or heavy manufacturing facility assessments
- Familiarity with steel and/or concrete structural systems in process plant environments
- Prior work with damaged or compromised structural elements, including post-incident assessment
- Ability to mobilize quickly and prioritize an urgent, time-sensitive scope
