Duties
- Operate a variety of heavy equipment including front loaders and excavators.
- Load and unload materials from dump trucks and front loader trucks with precision and safety.
- Conduct routine inspections of equipment to ensure proper functioning and report any maintenance needs promptly.
- Follow safety protocols strictly to prevent accidents or injuries on site; maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Collaborate with team members to coordinate material deliveries and ensure timely completion of project phases.
- Operate farm machinery or specialized vehicles as needed for specific project requirements.
- Maintain detailed logs of equipment usage, material movements, and safety inspections for record-keeping purposes.
- Support other construction activities by assisting with minor repairs or adjustments to machinery when necessary.
Experience
- Proven experience operating heavy construction equipment such as loaders, dozers, excavators, backhoes, cranes, and water trucks on active job sites.
- Familiarity with construction site safety standards and procedures is essential.
- Mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot basic equipment issues quickly and efficiently.
- Experience driving commercial vehicles including dump trucks, tanker trucks, roll-off trucks, front loader trucks, and water trucks is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of various machinery brands such as Caterpillar or similar heavy equipment manufacturers is a plus.
- Prior work on projects involving concrete mixers or farm machinery will be considered an asset.
- Ability to read technical manuals and follow operational instructions accurately.
Job Types: Full-time, Contract, Temporary
Pay: $17.50 - $19.00 per hour
