Your day, engineered for precisionIt’s 5:00 AM in Paramount. You step onto a spotless shop floor where aerospace, cryogenics, automotive, and technology components move from machine to metrology. With a seasoned Inspection Manager as your guide, you chart the path for quality across a growing operation of 30 long-tenured professionals.
First up: a first article on a complex part with a 0.0002-inch tolerance. You interpret the drawing, set up calipers, micrometers, height gauges, V-Blocks, and the CMM, and verify requirements against AS9100 and ISO 9001 standards. By mid-morning, you’re performing in-process checks, logging measurements, and flagging any nonconformances for corrective action. Before the day wraps, it’s final inspection and report-out—clear, complete documentation for every batch.
What you’ll do- Execute first article, in-process, and final inspections against drawings, specs, and customer requirements.
- Use precision metrology tools: calipers, micrometers, height gauges, V-Blocks, and CMM (with opportunities to deepen your CMM skills).
- Identify, document, and communicate nonconforming/out-of-spec parts to drive corrective action.
- Maintain thorough inspection records and generate batch reports with measurement data and observations.
- Collaborate with Quality Assurance and the machine shop to uphold and improve standards.
- Support calibration: ensure tools are maintained, scheduled, and recorded for accuracy.
- Contribute to continuous improvement; offer design/manufacturing feedback informed by inspection results.
- 1st Shift: 4x10, Monday–Thursday, 5:00 AM–3:30 PM
- Overtime: Fridays, 5:00 AM–1:00 PM
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical/vocational training in mechanical, machining, or related field preferred.
- AS9100 and ISO 9001 experience is necessary.
- At least 1 year as a Mechanical or Quality Control Inspector in a CNC machining or similar manufacturing environment.
- Strong blueprint/drawing interpretation and familiarity with technical specifications.
- Hands-on expertise with precision measuring instruments and inspection methods.
- Meticulous attention to detail, documentation strength, and independent problem-solving.
- Clear communication and effective teamwork across functions.
