As Hospice Clinical Director, you’ll guide our clinical team in delivering thoughtful, high-quality end-of-life care. You’ll help create a supportive environment for patients, families, and staff while keeping care safe, compliant, and running smoothly.
Schedule: Full-time, Monday–Friday, 8:30 a.m.–5:00 p.m., with rotating Manager on Duty coverage
Sign-on bonus: $5,000
What You’ll Do
- Lead daily clinical operations and partner with the Administrator, medical director, and care team to support coordinated, individualized care.
- Coach, mentor, and develop nursing and clinical staff through onboarding, ongoing education, feedback, and performance support.
- Oversee staffing, schedules, assignments, and coverage to meet patient needs and support quality care.
- Maintain clear, accurate clinical documentation, including care provided, medications, and changes in patient condition.
- Review care practices and records, strengthen policies and procedures, and support compliance with hospice standards and applicable regulations.
- Communicate with patients, families, caregivers, healthcare partners, and regulatory agencies; respond to concerns with care and professionalism.
- Promote a safe workplace by following infection prevention and other safety practices, and take on other duties as needed.
What You’ll Bring
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state where you’ll work.
- At least one year of clinical experience in hospice or palliative care.
- Experience with MatrixCare or a similar electronic medical record system.
- Knowledge of hospice standards and Medicare/Medicaid requirements.
- Strong clinical judgment, communication, organization, and people leadership skills.
- A compassionate, steady approach and the ability to adapt in a changing, fast-paced care environment.
- Previous leadership or management experience is preferred.
Physical and Work Requirements
This role may involve lifting or assisting with transfers up to 50 pounds, standing and walking for extended periods, bending, climbing stairs, and working in varied home environments. You’ll need the vision and dexterity to review records and handle clinical equipment, the ability to respond promptly to emergencies, and the ability to maintain scheduled attendance and work calmly in high-stress situations. Reasonable assistance may be used for lifting and transfers.
