Small private medical practice looking for Lead Medical Receptionist.
The Lead Medical Receptionist serves as the first point of contact, managing front-desk operations by greeting patients, scheduling appointments, verifying insurance, and handling billing.
Key Responsibilities
- Patient Experience: Greet patients, answer multi-line phones, and manage the front desk area.
- Scheduling: Book, reschedule, and confirm appointments to optimize provider schedules.
- Administrative Tasks: Register new patients, update demographic information, maintain electronic patient files, and scanning documents as needed.
- Financial Duties: Collect copays, verify insurance eligibility, and process payments.
- Communication: Coordinate between patients and clinical staff, managing correspondence.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; certification in medical administration is a plus.
- Experience: 1–2 years of experience in a medical office setting is preferred.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) systems (e.g., Epic, eClinicalWorks) and Microsoft Office. Applicants with experience with eCW are highly preferred.
- Knowledge: Understanding of medical terminology and HIPAA regulations.
- Soft Skills: Strong organizational skills, empathy, multitasking abilities, and attention to detail.
