Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly and professionally, creating a welcoming atmosphere at the front desk.
- Schedule appointments accurately using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) system.
- Verify insurance coverage, perform insurance verification, and handle payments for co-pays and deductibles.
- Manage multi-line phone systems with excellent phone etiquette, directing calls efficiently and taking detailed messages.
- Maintain and update patient records in various EHR (Electronic Health Record) systems, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Assist with intake procedures, including collecting patient information and reviewing documentation for completeness and accuracy.
Requirements
- Proven experience in a medical office setting or healthcare environment, including clinic experience or dental clinic experience preferred
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Familiarity with EMR systems such as Epic, Meditech, eClinicalWorks, or Athenahealth; experience with health information management is a plus.
- Excellent computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and office management software.
- Ability to handle sensitive patient information in accordance with HIPAA standards with transparency and professionalism.
- Bilingual abilities are highly desirable to serve diverse patient populations effectively.
- Exceptional organizational skills with attention to detail in medical scheduling, insurance verification, and filing processes.
- Strong customer service orientation paired with effective communication skills and phone etiquette.
