Summary: Coordinates the procurement and flow of materials, parts, and assemblies toward meeting materials requirements and production schedules by directing suppliers and shipping companies to ensure that materials arrive on delivery dates.
Supervisory Responsibilities: This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Buyer:
1. Replenishes material, establishes delivery dates, and helps expedite materials to meet production schedules.
2. Communicates any supply problems to key internal stakeholders.
3. Works to meet customer requirements; 100% on time delivery.
4. Manages inventory levels in order to meet company goals; raw materials.
5. Manages supplier shipments to keep freight costs as low as possible.
6. Acts as a primary contact with direct materials suppliers.
7. Aids procurement team in monitoring supplier performance, pricing, and their CI efforts toward increased efficiencies and cost reduction in accordance with our customer performance demands.
8. Aids in Analyzing need for new suppliers and makes recommendations.
9. Aids the procurement team during the supplier selection and quoting process for new parts to ensure suppliers can meet program production and design requirements.
10. Works in a safe manner, following all safety policies and procedures while keeping in mind other’s safety as well.
11. Reports any accidents and potentially unsafe conditions or unsafe acts immediately to appropriate supervisor.
12. Other duties as assigned.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Scheduler:
1. Creates line 4 schedule to establish sequence and lead time of each operation to meet shipping dates according to sales forecasts or customer orders.
2. Take forecasted demand information and present to management a simulation of needed production output and inventory impact. Can make recommendations to management.
3. Analyzes plant capacity data and performs mathematical calculations to determine customer order acceptance.
4. Plans sequence of part number run order.
5. Works to meet customer requirements; 100% on time delivery for first fit and after market orders.
6. Collaborates with department supervisors on production schedules to fill customer purchase orders.
7. Coordinates with buyers to ensure supplier capability in meeting production schedule goals.
8. Expedites operations that delay schedules and alters schedules to meet unforeseen conditions.
9. Prepares production reports.
10. Manages Inventory levels in order to meet company goals: Finished Goods, WIP and Raw Materials.
11. Creates and maintains Bills of Material.
12. Coordinate inter-company production orders.
13. Monitors customer forecast variation and makes recommendations to management.
14. Manages own performance and performance of direct reports to meet defined goals.
15. Works in a safe manner, following all safety policies and procedures while keeping in mind other’s safety as well.
16. Reports any accidents and potentially unsafe conditions or unsafe acts immediately to appropriate supervisor.
17. Other duties as assigned.

- Education and/or Experience:
Bachelor's degree (B.S.) or equivalent in Purchasing, Engineering or Business related field; or five to ten years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills:
Is able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; write routine reports and correspondence; speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Mathematical Skills:
Is able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals; compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office Internet software; Microsoft Excel Spreadsheet, Word Processing software, and experience with ERP systems.
Other Skills and Abilities:
Is able to handle multiple assignments at once and communicate effectively within all levels of the organization. Highly organized.
