What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Research Associate position at Advanced Clinical?
We are seeking a Senior Research Associate to support transcriptomics research through the execution of next-generation sequencing (NGS) workflows and related sample processing activities. This role will support a variety of sequencing-based applications while ensuring high-quality data generation, operational excellence, and continuous process improvement.
Key Responsibilities- Support transcriptomics studies using bulk RNA sequencing, small RNA sequencing, long-read sequencing, single-cell, spatial, and related genomics platforms.
- Perform RNA isolation, library preparation, quality control, sequencing, and associated sample processing activities.
- Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot NGS instrumentation and laboratory equipment.
- Manage sample tracking, logistics, and data collection workflows.
- Prepare protocols, technical documentation, and data reports.
- Support development, optimization, and implementation of new technologies and laboratory workflows.
- Troubleshoot technical issues and contribute to process improvement initiatives.
- Train and assist laboratory personnel as needed.
- Adapt to evolving project priorities, workflows, and platform needs.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Molecular Biology, Genetics, Genomics, Biology, or a related scientific discipline.
- Hands-on experience with NGS workflows, including RNA isolation, library preparation, sequencing, and quality control.
- Experience supporting transcriptomics or genomics research programs.
- Strong laboratory troubleshooting, organization, and documentation skills.
- Experience maintaining accurate sample records and managing laboratory data.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced research environment.
- Experience with bulk RNA-seq, small RNA-seq, long-read sequencing, single-cell sequencing, spatial transcriptomics, or related technologies.
- Experience operating and maintaining NGS instrumentation.
- Experience developing or optimizing laboratory workflows and protocols.
- Experience training or mentoring laboratory staff.
- Experience working in biotechnology, pharmaceutical, academic, or other research environments.
