We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and collaborative Research Associate III to join a well-known client’s Discovery Sciences & Technologies team in Foster City, CA. This role will support the Biologics Inventory group in managing and modernizing a large library of legacy biologics to advance research efforts.
The Research Associate III will play a key role in maintaining sample integrity, ensuring accurate inventory tracking, and supporting biologics sample workflows across multiple therapeutic areas, including virology, inflammation, oncology, and respiratory disease. This is an excellent opportunity for a lab scientist to apply their biology and biochemistry expertise in a highly collaborative, state-of-the-art research environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Perform comprehensive audits of biologics inventory, including reconciliation of discrepancies and updating sample storage locations.
• Reformat and consolidate biological samples into appropriate labware for long-term storage using defined workflows.
• Maintain daily updates and accuracy of inventory records within LIMS and inventory management systems.
• Utilize laboratory automation tools, including liquid handlers and instrumentation (e.g., Echo, Bravo, Biomek, i7).
• Work within a Biological Safety Cabinet (BSC) using proper aseptic techniques to maintain sample integrity.
• Handle biologic materials appropriately to preserve quality and ensure compliance with standard protocols.
• Meet established timelines and provide regular progress updates to management.
• Collaborate closely with team members and cross-functional stakeholders to support research initiatives.
EXPERIENCE
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant laboratory experience in biology, biochemistry, or a related discipline.
• Strong understanding of sample management, inventory control, and laboratory logistics.
• Experience using liquid handling systems and automation technologies preferred.
• Familiarity with LIMS and laboratory data systems strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated experience working with aseptic technique and biologics handling.
• Strong organizational, time management, and attention to detail skills.
EDUCATION
• Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Biochemistry, or a related scientific discipline required.
