Location: 301 Division Ave, Brookings, SD 57006
Hours: Full-time, 40 hours a week. Flexible hours including evenings, overnights, weekends, and holidays if shift coverage is required. Normal working hours are Monday-Friday 11a-7p.

What You’ll Do
As the Residential Supervisor, you will oversee the daily operations of a residential program, supervising direct support staff and ensuring high-quality supports are delivered according to each individual’s needs and goals. Your responsibilities will include:

• Supervising, mentoring, and coaching direct support professionals
• Ensuring all supports follow the person-centered goals in the Individual Service Plans (ISPs)
• Overseeing scheduling, open shifts, conflict resolution, and staff retention
• Coordinating daily living supports including personal care, meals, finances, and transportation
• Monitoring medical needs, medication administration, and health-related supplies
• Ensuring home upkeep, cleanliness, safety drills, and compliance with regulations
• Facilitating outings and activities aligned with individual interests
• Conducting team meetings, evaluations, and disciplinary actions as needed
• Supporting a positive, inclusive, and respectful home environment

What You Need to Succeed

Education & Experience:

• High school diploma or GED required
• BA or BS in Psychology, Sociology, Special Education, or related field preferred
• 2 years of experience working with people with disabilities preferred
• Supervisory experience strongly preferred

Licensure:

• Valid driver’s license and insurable under agency policy
• Must be at least 21 years old if driving is required
• Must pass pre-employment drug screen and background check

Skills & Competencies:

• Strong leadership, organization, and multitasking abilities
• Ability to work in high-pressure situations and make sound decisions
• Strong communication and conflict resolution skills
• Willingness to take initiative, adapt to change, and work independently
• Knowledge of disability services, support strategies, and assessment tools
• Basic proficiency with office software (email, Word, Excel) and record-keeping
• Physical ability to lift/move objects up to 50 lbs and assist with personal cares
