Advance Transit is seeking an organized, dependable, and people-focused Human Resources Coordinator to join our team. This position is a great opportunity for an HR professional who enjoys working with employees, staying organized, and supporting a variety of HR functions in a mission-driven organization.
Position Details
Location: Wilder, VT | Onsite
Position: Full-Time | Hourly | Non-Exempt
Reports to: Interim Chief Operating Officer
Salary: 26.50 to 31.50 per hour depending on experience.
About the Role
The Human Resources Coordinator provides administrative and operational support across a variety of HR functions. You'll help coordinate recruitment and onboarding, maintain employee records, assist with benefits and payroll, track employee leaves and training, support compliance activities, and serve as a helpful resource for employees.

What You’ll Do
- Coordinate job postings, applicant tracking, interview scheduling, reference checks, and candidate communications.
- Coordinate newhire onboarding, orientation, paperwork, and training assignments.
- Maintain confidential personnel files and employee records.
- Complete and maintain I9 documentation.
- Assist with benefits enrollments, changes, terminations, and employee questions.
- Assist with tracking FMLA, personal leave, workers' compensation, and ADArelated documentation.
- Support payroll processing and verify employee information in HR systems.
- Prepare HR reports, spreadsheets, correspondence, and documentation.
- Assist employees with questions regarding benefits, payroll, policies, and HR procedures.
- Support employee recognition, wellness, and engagement activities.
- Assist with open enrollment and other HR projects.
- Support HR compliance, recordkeeping, policies, and Employee Handbook updates.
- Maintain the highest level of confidentiality and professionalism.
What We’re Looking For:
We're looking for someone who is approachable, organized, detail-oriented, and able to handle confidential information with discretion.
Preferred qualifications include:
- 24 years of HR, payroll, benefits, or administrative experience.
- Working knowledge of HR principles and employment practices.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organization, time management, and attention to detail.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams.
- HRIS experience preferred.
- SHRMCP, PHR, or related HR certification is a plus but not required.
