Direct Support Professional

Overview:
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professionals (DSP) to provide support to individuals with Intellectual Disabilities. This role is crucial in enhancing the quality of life for our individuals by assisting them in daily activities, living skills, and promoting their independence. The ideal candidate will be patient, empathetic, and committed to fostering a supportive environment.

Duties:

• Provide direct care services to individuals with intellectual disabilities and specialized care by accomplishing goals outlined in their Individual Support Plan
• Provide support and assistance to foster maximum independence of individuals
• Ensure the safety and well-being of the individuals
• Observe individuals’ behaviors and changes in physical condition, utilize prescribed strategies to assist the individual, document, and report accordingly
• Maintain logs and records pertaining to individuals; logs must be completed and submitted following each shift.
• Provide physical assistance, instruction, prompting, modeling, and reinforcement to individuals in need of support
• Able to transport (some transportation required)

Skills:

• A minimum of 18 years of age is required
• A valid driver’s license is required
• Current car insurance and registration are required
• Successfully pass a background check, required
• Experience working directly with individuals with intellectual disabilities is preferred.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From $17.00 per hour
