3D CAD / Design Artist.
Overview
A successful candidate will be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required:
We are seeking a highly skilled 3D CAD/Design Artist to work closely with our Engineering and Marketing teams in preparing engineering models for 3D video, rendering, animation, and product photography. This role is ideal for a mechanically inclined, detail-oriented designer who can prepare technical CAD data files to be used in visually compelling digital assets while managing product timelines and coordinating with external vendors. This position reports to the Digital & Content Manager.
Key Responsibilities
3D Model Preparation & Optimization
- Learn and understand Adrian product lines, how they work together to 'clean' and standardize models for future use.
- Convert and prepare engineering CAD models for use in 3D visualization, animation, and product imagery.
- Clean, optimize, and texture models to ensure high-quality visual output.
- Work with engineering to ensure models are dimensionally accurate and align with product specifications.
- Learn and understand Adrian product lines, how they work together to 'clean' and standardize models for future use.
- Convert and prepare engineering CAD models for use in 3D visualization, animation, and product imagery.
- Clean, optimize, and texture models to ensure high-quality visual output.
- Work with engineering to ensure models are dimensionally accurate and align with product specifications.
Cross-Team Collaboration
- Partner with Engineering to receive, interpret, and refine CAD data.
- Collaborate with Marketing/Digital & Content Manager to understand visual objectives, brand standards, and asset requirements.
- Provide visual iterations, previews, and revisions based on cross-team feedback.
Project & File Management
- Manage product visualization timelines, ensuring deliverables meet launch or campaign schedules.
- Organize, maintain, and version-control 3D assets and project files.
- Prepare and package files for external vendors (3D animation studios, render partners, photographers, etc.).
- Communicate timeline changes or risks to internal teams and vendors promptly.
- Track and report progress on multiple concurrent projects.
Vendor Communication
- Serve as the primary point of contact for external visualization partners.
- Ensure vendors receive accurate files, reference materials, and style guidelines.
- Review vendor deliverables for accuracy, quality, and brand consistency.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 3'5 years of experience in 3D modeling, CAD design, or product visualization.
- Proficiency in CAD and 3D visualization tools (e.g., SolidWorks, Fusion 360, Inventor, Blender, Cinema4D, 3ds Max, Maya, KeyShot).
- Strong understanding of materials, textures, lighting, and rendering workflows.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, assemblies, and technical specifications.
- Mechanically inclined and quick learning
- Excellent organizational and file management skills.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work across teams and with external partners.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with accurate time estimates.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in consumer product visualization or similar industries.
- Familiarity with animation workflows and rendering pipelines.
- Understanding of marketing creative processes and brand guidelines.
- Experience working with PDM/PLM systems is a plus.
