Packout Team Lead/Longview, TX

General Summary: 

The Production Team Lead is responsible for the safety and productivity of production employees staffed on a designated shift. The Team Leader is accountable for ensuring that the production schedule for completion is executed in a timely manner. 

General Duties

• Metrics such as Production $/day, Schedule Attainment, Productivity, Overtime (BU specific)
• Understanding feeder schedules to ensure the materials are supplied for the production of building coils.
• Assure a quality product is being shipped
• Train, assign and direct your fellow employees
• Assure equipment, tooling, & supplies are maintained
• Identify and initiate continuous improvement efforts
• Perform related duties as necessary
• Perform quality checks on products and parts
• Promote problem solving within your team
• Foster employee involvement and good morale with your team and peers
• Supply employee feedback to the supervisor for yearly reviews

Department Specific Duties & Responsibilities:
Packout

• Lead and support packout team members to ensure finished products are packaged accurately, safely, and in accordance with customer requirements.
• Coordinate daily packout activities to ensure production schedules and shipping deadlines are met.
• Verify coil identification, quantities, and customer specifications prior to packaging and shipment.
• Ensure accurate entry of product, packaging, and shipment information into company computer systems.
• Oversee the construction of boxes, crates, and other packaging materials to ensure product protection during transit.
• Verify completed coils are weighed and documented accurately prior to shipment
• Assist with packout operations as needed to support workflow and meet production demands
• Maintain appropriate inventory levels of packaging materials and order packout supplies as necessary.
• Coordinate with Shipping, Production, materials, Quality departments to ensure efficient movement to finished goods.
• Inspect packaged products for quality, accuracy, and compliance with customer and company requirements.
• Monitor department housekeeping and maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance safety, quality, efficiency, and on-time delivery.
• Troubleshoot packaging, inventory, and shipment issues and escalate concerns when necessary.
