Outpatient Occupational Therapist Assistant Location: Waterman Village Senior Living Community in Mount Dora, FL 32757
Waterman Village is seeking a compassionate and motivated Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) to join our Outpatient Therapy team. This is a great opportunity to work within a well-established senior living community and make a meaningful difference in the independence, safety, and quality of life of older adults.
*** Not your typical outpatient setting! 1:1 treatments, 7-8 patients a day, team environment and willing to help you with certifications such as LSVT Big and Lymphedema.
Position Responsibilities
- Treat outpatient therapy patients based on individualized needs and physician orders.
- Implement patient-centered treatment plans focused on improving independence and quality of life.
- Provide treatment for conditions including upper-extremity limitations, hand rehabilitation, urinary incontinence, pain, weakness, decreased mobility, balance concerns, and functional decline.
- Provide education on adaptive equipment, home safety, energy conservation, fall prevention, and strategies to improve activities of daily living.
- Collaborate with PT, ST, nursing, physicians, and other members of the interdisciplinary team.
- Participate in community wellness initiatives, educational programs, and opportunities to promote therapy services to Waterman Village residents.
- Maintain excellent communication and customer service with residents, families, and team members.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
- Current Florida Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant license in good standing.
- Current CPR certification.
- Experience working with the geriatric population preferred.
- Outpatient or senior living experience preferred.
- Strong communication, organizational, and documentation skills.
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative therapy team.
