Position Summary:
The RN Nurse Manager - Operating Room is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the daily operations of the Operating Room (OR) to ensure high-quality patient care and compliance with hospital policies, clinical standards, and regulatory requirements. The role involves managing clinical staff, maintaining workflow efficiency, and fostering a culture of safety, collaboration, and excellence in surgical care delivery.
Key Responsibilities:

Provide leadership and direction to nursing staff within the Operating Room, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care.

Oversee scheduling, staffing, and performance management of the OR nursing team.

Ensure compliance with hospital policies, nursing standards, and state and federal regulations.

Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes and surgical workflows.

Monitor patient safety, infection control, and quality improvement initiatives within the department.

Manage departmental budgets, supply inventories, and resource utilization effectively.

Support ongoing education, orientation, and professional development for OR nursing staff.

Participate in accreditation and regulatory readiness activities.

Required Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN).

Licensure: Active California Registered Nurse (RN) License upon hire.

Certifications:

Basic Life Support (BLS) - American Heart Association upon hire.

NNR certification for applicable departments (L&D, NICU, Nursery, Postpartum) — required within 90-180 days of orientation completion, depending on department.

Minimum 5 years of nursing experience within the Operating Room specialty.
