Job Overview
Our plant in New Mexico is state of the art and we are preparing for a major expansion. We are seeking a dynamic and detail-orientated Quality Assurance Lead to oversee our quality assurance operations. This role is responsible for planning, executing, and reporting of tests, providing technical guidance, mentoring quality inspectors and collaborating with production team to resolve issues and improve the overall quality of our cable products.
Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, & maintain the overall QA system, ensuring compliance with industry standards and customer requirements.
- Verify requirements align with product specifications before production.
- Ensure adherence to documented processes during wire drawing, stranding, insulation, jacketing, & assembly.
- Investigate root causes of failures (e.g., insulation breaks, shorts, incorrect dimensions).
- Drive initiatives to reduce waste & improve consistency.
- Oversee in-process checks, final product testing (electrical, mechanical) & raw material inspections.
- Manage quality records, test reports, non-conformance reports (NCRs), & corrective/preventive actions (CAPA).
- Train, mentor, & supervise QA inspectors, guiding them on procedures & quality standards.
Experience
- Cable manufacturing experience a plus
- Knowledge of quality control techniques and methodologies
- Experience in implementing and maintaining quality management systems
- Proficient in conducting quality inspections and using relevant tools and equipment
- Ability to analyze data and interpret results to drive decision-making
- Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams
- Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to fabricate solutions to complex quality issues
- Must read, write and speak English/Spanish fluently.
