DSP

Assisting Hands is seeking Direct Support Professionals to provide care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities. The ideal candidate will be experienced, caring, and motivated to help clients achieve greater independence and quality of life.

Responsibilities

• Provide assistance with all Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including total care as needed.
• Reposition clients as required to maintain comfort and prevent complications.
• Follow established protocols and care plans with close attention to detail.
• Support clients in making progress toward outcomes and goals defined in their Plan of Care.
• Document services provided accurately (e.g., CBS Log).
• Utilize Electronic Visit Verification (EVV) systems.
• Advocate for client rights, ensuring dignity, privacy, and respect at all times.
• Monitor and report any changes in client condition or circumstances to supervisors and guardians.
• Ensure the safety and well‑being of clients at all times.

Requirements

• Full compliance with all Medicaid Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD) requirements.
• If applicable, physical stamina to safely perform tasks such as lifting, transferring, or repositioning clients.
• Trustworthy and reliable, fostering confidence in clients and families.
• Strong interpersonal skills, compassion, and sensitivity to the mental, emotional, and physical needs of clients.
• Current CPR/First Aid certification.
• Successful completion of background check and drug screening.
