Duties
- Operate hydrovac trucks with precision, managing high-pressure water systems and vacuum equipment to excavate around utilities, pipelines, and other underground infrastructure.
- Safely maneuver and operate heavy machinery including excavators, dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, water trucks, and dump trucks to support excavation and construction activities.
- Assist with the setup and breakdown of construction sites by handling equipment such as horizontal drills, tankers, paving machines, and other heavy machinery.
- Conduct routine inspections of equipment to ensure proper functioning and safety compliance; perform minor maintenance as needed.
- Follow all safety protocols and procedures during operations to prevent accidents and protect team members; communicate effectively with team members regarding project progress or hazards.
- Collaborate with construction crews to execute excavation plans accurately while minimizing environmental impact and adhering to project specifications.
- Maintain detailed records of daily operations, equipment usage logs, and safety reports for accountability and regulatory compliance.
Experience
- Proven experience operating hydrovac trucks or similar heavy equipment in a construction or utility setting.
- Mechanical knowledge of hydraulic systems, water pressure controls, and vacuum technology is highly desirable.
- Valid commercial driver’s license with clean driving record; experience with commercial driving is essential.
- Hands-on experience operating excavators, dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, water trucks, dump trucks, tankers, horizontal drills or paving machinery is preferred.
- Familiarity with construction site safety standards and procedures; previous work on utility or infrastructure projects is a plus.
- Knowledge of Caterpillar equipment or similar brands enhances your ability to perform effectively on-site.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions while maintaining a high level of safety awareness.
