Payrate: $60.00 - $63.00/hr.
Summary:
The main function of the support engineer is to support engineering projects by adapting and applying engineering techniques, conducting tests and inspections, and preparing reports and calculations.
Responsibilities:
- Determine engineering requirements by conducting inspections and analytical tests, analyzing and synthesizing data, maintaining control charts, determining root causes, and preparing bid specifications.
- Resolve engineering problems by collecting and analyzing information, researching, adapting, and modifying engineering techniques.
- Recommend solutions and prepare drawings, schematics, and diagrams.
- Meet cost standards by preparing cost-benefit analyses, and track and report expenses.
- Maintain and improve quality results by completing quality assurance tests, following standards, studying, evaluating, and re-designing processes, and implementing changes.
- Collect and enter data, generate reports and presentations, and summarize data and trends.
- Support all escalated issues from the C&I II team to resolution.
- Responsible for successful commissioning of RAN equipment by auditing all newly commissioned sites.
- Work and assist other engineering teams with remote commissioning of LTE RAN equipment.
- Create scripts and/or modify existing scripts.
- Possess the ability and flexibility to work a 24X7 schedule and/or in an on-call environment.
- Support Field and RF Engineers with parameter changes, clearing alarms, etc.
- Lead issues to resolution, while maintaining professionalism in all communications with both internal and external contacts.
- Apply SME level troubleshooting skills and ability to mentor junior engineers.
- Complete tasks required to maintain service levels and availability of all site features and functions.
- Provide guidance to customers on integration, commissioning, and onsite support during network cut over for new markets.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree preferably in engineering (EE, CE, ME, CS, or equivalent technical degree).
- 4 - 8 years of Telecom industry experience required.
- Good knowledge of wireless network architecture concepts, especially in the RAN domain and Network Routers.
- Good knowledge of UNIX/LINUX operating systems.
- Prior experience and/or proven ability to develop, train, and supervise junior Commissioning Engineers.
- Prior experience in commissioning engineering activities required.
- The ability to develop and maintain excellent working relationships within the company, vendors, and with customer contacts.
- Demonstrated English language competency in both oral and written communication modes for both internal and external communications.
- Work under very little supervision and guidance to identify and ensure achievement of team goals and to complete individual work assignments within established time frames.
- The demonstrated ability to solve problems involving highly diverse conditions requiring creativity to search for solutions among learned things.
- Interact with all levels within the organization and has frequent external contacts.

Pay Transparency: The typical base pay for this role across the U.S. is: $60.00 - $63.00/hr. Non-exempt positions are eligible for overtime at a rate of 1.5 times the base hourly rate for all hours worked in excess of 40 in a work week, or as required by state or local law. Final offer amounts, within the base pay set forth above, are determined by factors including your relevant skills, education and experience. Full-time employees are eligible to select from different benefits packages.
