Compliance Engineer Job Description:
The successful candidate will be integral to New Product and New Technology programs, directly supporting all aspects of the engineering teams developing Drivetrain Components, Batteries, Chargers and Fuel Cells, to ensure their compliance with product regulations, and safety standards.
This role involves understanding design features, ensuring validation and test reports meet industry standards, compiling compliance evidence, and delivering to our NPI timelines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop an understanding of industry safety standards and support product development.
- Communicate requirements to Engineering teams, ensuring that actions are clearly agreed, and delivered to timelines.
- Facilitate Risk Assessment sessions, evaluate products against standards, compile functional safety assessments, and develop risk mitigation plans.
- Support the resolution of technical issues in line with industry standards.
- Compile compliance documentation for submission to certification bodies.
- Develop and implement Lean processes for the delivery of compliant products and management of risks.
Education & Experience Required:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering required with 5 years experience required OR Master's degree in engineering required with 3 years experience required.
Technical Skills:
- Qualification in an engineering discipline relevant to Electrification and Electric powertrain component development.
- Experienced engineer with background in product development.
- An ability to review and apply product standards such as IEC 60204-1, ISO 12100 and ISO 13849, and provide guidance to engineers and other business functions.
- Experience of developing technical reports that demonstrate product capability for use in compliance certifications and homologation.
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience or Qualifications in Risk Assessment, Safety Risk Management, or Functional Safety.
- Experience with electrical safety standards, product regulatory requirements, product validation or DFMEA.
Pay Transparency: The typical base pay for this role across the U.S. is $52.00 - $57.00 per hour. Final offer amounts, within the base pay set forth above, are determined by factors including your relevant skills, education and experience and the benefits package you select.
