Purpose
Supports the Company in the fundamental role of achieving customer acquisition and revenue growth objectives.
Principal Accountabilities
- Use telemarketing to sell product and services
- Use telemarketing to expand customer base
- Receive, prioritize, and price quotes for customers
- Records and maintains customer account profiles and activities
- Reviews purchase orders and quality requirements to ensure correct processing
- Follow up as necessary to ensure order completion
- Collaborate with and support Regional Sales Managers
- Meet or exceed gross profit goals given
Communicate appropriately with upper management on issues
- Stay knowledgeable of our competition’s products and services, research and memorize what products are made by which manufacturers
Nature and Scope
The nature of this role is to have an outstanding ability to communicate with customers effectively and confidently. Must have an aptitude to sell product and promote services, maximizing all opportunities while maintaining gross profit goals. This is not a supervisory role, however, a certain level of coaching skills are required to effectively communicate with supporting customer service staff.
The individual will spend all of their time in a busy office environment, using standard office equipment. They will need to talk/listen, stand, sit, read written instructions/reports, and type often. They occasionally may need to climb stairs, crouch, kneel, and balance. Mental demands include the ability to resolve problems, handle conflict, think critically, and meet deadlines.
Requirements
Background Experience and Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent, some college preferred
- At least one year work experience, either in a sales or customer service position
- Computer skills, including the ability to operate Microsoft Office programs and inventory software
- Basic understanding of strategic or corporate sourcing
- Excellent written communication skills, including grammar and spelling ability
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks well
- The ability to work as part of a team
- Willingness to continue training and development to self-enhance personal performance
