What You’ll Do
As a Therapist in our IHPTA program, you will deliver trauma-informed, evidence-based interventions to youth and families referred for preservation, treatment, or aftercare services. This position focuses on supporting the development of prosocial skills, emotional regulation, family functioning and relapse prevention to promote safe and sustainable outcomes for youth within their home and community.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct in-home therapeutic services to youth and families in alignment with the treatment plan.
- Facilitate individual, family and group sessions addressing areas such as anger management, trauma recovery, social skills, academic or employment readiness, and family communication.
- Develop, implement, and update treatment and aftercare plans based on client progress and goals.
- Conduct general and case specific assessments on each youth.
- Use evidence-based interventions to strengthen emotional regulation, social skills and resilience.
- Collaborate with referral sources, case workers, probation officers and school personnel to ensure coordinated care.
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation and progress notes in alignment with best practices.
- Participate in supervision, case consultations and professional development activities.
- Model Trauma-Informed Care by approaching every interaction in a respectful and unbiased manner.
- Master’s degree in a human service-related field (mental health, counseling, psychology, etc.) preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree with current enrollment in a human services graduate program or with extensive experience considered.
- Experience with CBT or family systems approaches strongly preferred.
- Experience providing therapeutic services (in-home or community-based experience a plus).
- A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required.
- Clearances: Child Abuse, Criminal Background and FBI required upon hire.
