JOB SUMMARY:
The Payroll Administrator will be performing payroll processing and related activities such as staff/faculty payroll and garnishments.
REPORTS TO: Director of HR Service Center & Systems
RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:
Coordinate payroll processing and workflow.
Set up new hires, process changes, terminations, direct deposit, taxable fringe benefits, deductions for faculty, administrators, clerical, facilities, public safety, and hourly employees.
Checking and auditing timekeeping records for compliance with established standards.
Perform tasks to establish, reconcile and maintain employee or Faculty payroll records.
Assist with Download data from Administrative Systems.
Calculate amounts Special Payments.
Process payroll adjustments.
Run various ADP reports
Troubleshoot Data Bridge issues.
Process Stop Payment on checks.
Process Manual Checks.
Review and reconcile ADP output once payroll is processed.
Prepare various reports from Excel as well as ADP Reporting for Payroll and other departments.
Handle all aspects of wage garnishments including making Child Support payments online.
Handle Employee and Faculty inquiries as it relates to calculating short term disability and family leave.
Process wire transfer request for credit union deductions.
Assist processing International Students though the FNIS and Tax Nov software.
Assist in processing nonresident Alien Scholarship taxable amount and send to the IRS- once a semester.
Assist and help prepare Quarterly 941 Reconciliation.
Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities):
Knowledge of payroll system (ADP Vantage).
Knowledge of Payroll Garnishments.
Proficiency in Excel and Word.
Good organizational and interpersonal skills.
Detail oriented.
Ability to maintain strict deadlines in a hectic environment.
Good verbal and written communications skills.
EDUCATIONAL/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree in business/related field or equivalent training and work experience.
- Three to five years of payroll experience with 2,000 or more employees is required.
- Experience with ADP is highly desirable.
- CPP designation is preferred.
Salary : $60,000 - $65,000
