Locum tenens opportunity for an Otolaryngologist in Billings, MT (59101) to provide outpatient and inpatient clinical and surgical coverage. Assignment is ASAP–ongoing with specific coverage windows: Jul 1–9, 2026; Jul 20–27, 2026; and Aug 24–31, 2026. Typical schedule is Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. (clinic/OR), with weeknight and weekend beeper call; 20-minute response expected. Agency covers travel, lodging, and malpractice insurance. Coverage is required due to a long-term vacancy while a permanent search continues.
Clinical scope includes comprehensive ENT with an emphasis on facial trauma, general head and neck, and a variable daily patient volume. Responsibilities include clinic and OR care, facial trauma procedures (including mandible fracture repairs), collaboration with APPs, and participation in call. Complex head and neck cases are part of the mix but not required.
Facility uses Cerner EMR and provides support staff (1 RN, 5 MAs, 2 PAs/NPs, 1 office staff). Hospital privileges are required; temporary privileges are not available.
Required procedural skills: general otolaryngology (surgical and non-surgical), facial implants, blepharoplasty, rhinoplasty, general and complex head and neck. Preferred skills: endoscopic procedures (septal, sinus), bronchoscopy (flexible and rigid), laryngoscopy, tracheotomy, thyroidectomy, extended parotidectomy, radical neck dissection, and facial reconstruction.
Qualifications: Board eligible (board certified preferred), Montana medical license or participation in the Interstate Medical Licensure Compact (IMLC), BLS and ACLS certification. Fellowship training is preferred. Prior facial trauma experience is required.
